Albion Rovers boss Sandy Clark will stay on in bid to guide club back to SPFL

Sandy Clark says he will be staying on at Albion Rovers next season to lead their charge to get back into the SPFL.The Wee Rovers were relegated from League Two yesterday following a 1-0 defeat and 2-1 aggregate loss to Spartans, and must now face up to playing in the Lowland League next season after their 120-year stay in senior football was brought to halt.It was a dark day for all concerned with Rovers but Clark says no time will be wasted in planning ahead to make sure their stay in the fifth tier is a short one.The 66-year-old was appointed at the end of March following Brian Reid's sacking in the aftermath of a costly defeat to Bonnyrigg Rose went a long way to sealing their fate this term.And he said: "I'll be here next season.

That's the plan."It's a different set of circumstances now as to what we do."The club will go on. That's the most important thing."We are not the first club to take the drop into the Lowland League."We've got to take it on the chin and try to get this club back up as soon as we can."Clark already has experience of the Lowland League, having joined from fifth tier side East Stirlingshire.But he also knows no club who has been relegated from League Two has returned to the SPFL since the pyramid play-off came into force in 2014, and Rovers will face a difficult task to attract the talent required to buck that trend.He said: "I know the Lowland League a little bit from my time at East Stirling."It is not easy but we need to address that, see where we are and do the best we can."There is a lot of circumstances involved in that, budget obviously, attracting players, trying to get loan players."Things like that become a bit more challenging."That is the nature of ending up bottom of the league."It
