The Ryanair pilot who tragically lost his life in a horrific M62 crash has been pictured for the first time. Senior First Officer Jamie Fernandes, aged 24, was a former pupil at Bolton School.
He and Captain Matt Greenhalgh, 28, were en-route to Liverpool John Lennon Airport in a taxi when the fatal collision occurred at 5.31am on yesterday (July 11).
The devastating incident, which took place on the westbound carriageway between junctions 8 and 7, involved their taxi and two HGVs.
Both pilots were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Cheshire Police have confirmed that specialist officers are supporting the families of the deceased, reports the Liverpool Echo.
