Legendary screen star Patrick Stewart is known for his iconic bald ‘do, having putting it promptly on display in his acting roles, such as playing Professor X in the “X-Men” series. However, the 83-year-old scored his shiny head earlier than fans realize. He explained in his new memoir “Making It So” that it was at the age of 17 when he began to loose strands.By 19, his head was completely bald. The “Star Trek: The Next Generation” alum revealed that he tried to pay for hair loss treatments at a clinic in Bristol.“I had grown up with thick, dark, wavy hair, but in my first year of drama school, when I was 17, it started to thin out at an accelerated rate,” he recalled, per the Evening Standard. The English actor noted that the more his hair diminished, he mustered up the courage to call the cosmetic medical institution and “have a chat with the people inside.”“They told me what the treatment would cost.

That’s when I realized I needed more cash in my pocket,” Stewart penned. In order to earn enough money for the clinic, Stewart began laboring as a bricklayer near his home in West Yorkshire, England.“Just up the road from my parents’ house was the office of a small building firm.

I walked in, found the boss, and asked him if he had any unskilled work available just for three weeks,” he reportedly wrote.

The “Gnomeo and Juliet” actor scribed that while he was able to earn enough dough from the firm for the procedures, they unfortunately didn’t work. “The clinic treatments in Bristol that I’d invested my hard-earned bricklayer money into achieved nothing,” he added.
