Three year old's fall from chair leads to life-saving diagnosis after horror twist

A mother has revealed how her three year old daughter's fall from a chair led to a devastating cancer diagnosis. Katelynn Squires, 29, noticed unusual bruising, fevers and pale skin in her daughter Paislee in June 2022.

Despite doctors initially dismissing the symptoms as 'normal for toddlers', it was only when Paislee fell from a chair and 'instantly turned black and purple' that her condition was taken seriously.

Hospital tests revealed she had B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a rare blood and bone marrow cancer. Speaking to What's The Jam, Katelynn, from Florida, USA, said: "That day still haunts me.

I took her to the doctor and they said it was normal. I had a gut instinct that something was wrong. "She ended up falling off her little toddler chair about a month later and instantly bruised and swelled up, turning black and purple on July 17." After calling the paediatrician and explaining the symptoms, they were advised to take Paislee to their local children's hospital. "A few tests and an hour later me and my husband Zackary were told the worst news possible.
