'There's a big match tonight': GMP issue message ahead of England's Euros opener

Police have urged football fans to not let tonight's England match be an 'excuse for disorder'. Hundreds of England fans are expected to make their way into the city centre this evening as the national team prepares to kick off its tournament against Serbia in the Euros 2024.

The full statement reads: "There’s a big match tonight and we want fans in and around #Manchester to enjoy it, don't let the football be an excuse for disorder or obstructing the emergency services. "Please only call 999 in an emergency.
