With December just around the corner and winter being among the best times of the year for a cosy Scottish getaway, the publication published its list of the top hotels across the country on Monday.Taking into account factors such as atmosphere, access to walks, and nearby shops, Condé Nast Traveller included both secluded rural hotels and luxurious big-city destinations.Included in the list of the top 16, which is in no particular order, is the Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh.
The opulent city hotel, which also includes an all-day restaurant, a rooftop bar, and a members’ club, was praised for its food and amenities — including its "delightful" bedrooms.Another city hotel that was named among the best in Scotland by Condé Nast Traveller is the voco Grand Central Glasgow Hotel in Glasgow, which occupies one of the city's most historic and impressive buildings.
The hotel was singled out for its "comfortable" rooms and lavish Champagne Bar.Meanwhile, one of the more rural destinations included in the magazine's list is Kinloch Lodge on the Isle of Skye, which has been a family home for centuries and a family-run hotel for five decades.
Condé Nast Traveller called attention to the secluded hotel's historic decor and delicious food.Another Highlands hotel that received a spot on the prestigious list is Killiehuntly Farmhouse and Cottages — a guest house and a collection of self-catered cottages in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
