Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese issues urgent E.Coli warning over some products

A cheese has been recalled due to fears it may contain E.Coli. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the notice on Christmas Eve for Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese, warning some products may have been included in hampers or as gifts for those opening presents on Christmas Day.

The recall notice affects four cheeses made by the company, based in Mill Lane, Preston. These are Smoked Lancashire, Mature Lancashire, Tasty Lancashire, and Mild and Creamy Lancashire, LancsLive reports. The products might be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. The FSA has stated: "Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese Ltd has taken the precautionary step of recalling various Lancashire Cheese products because the products might contain E.

Coli. "The cheeses are sometimes sold as a full block or served as individual portions, it may have been provided as part of a hamper you've purchased or been gifted.
