An annual list of the best and the worst seaside towns and villages in the country have been released by Which?. The guide, which is made up based on recommendations from 4,744 members earlier this year, saw Bamburgh in Northumberland successfully triumph at the top for the fourth year in a row with a score of 86 out of 100.
With a population of only around 400 people, the civil parish is popular with tourists and features Bamburgh Castle and Bamburgh Dunes, which has been regarded as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. READ MORE: 50 beautiful floral highlights as RHS Flower Show Tatton Park returns for final show Second on the list with a 83 per cent score was Portmeirion, in Gwynedd in North Wales, whilst third place was given to St Andrews in Fyfe, which was praised for its beaches, its seafront and its scenery.
Tynemouth in Tyne and Wear came in fourth, whilst Pembrokeshire's St Davids came fifth. Further down the list, in 29th place, was Lytham St Annes in Lancashire.
Located on the Fylde coast, south of Blackpool, the seaside town is home to more than 42,000 people and located near to Blackpool Airport.
