The team behind Greater Manchester pub The Black Friar have announced they will be opening a new neighbourhood café next month.
Leo and Roobs will open within the Blackfriars area, near to Deansgate, and will serve artisanal coffee and juices as well as a host of contemporary brunch and lunch dishes, including stacked breakfasts and house-baked crumpets.
Named after owner Neil Burke’s two children, the Salford café will have a family-friendly atmosphere with a menu created by head chef Morgan Lane, who previously worked at Pot Kettle Black. The pub has since gone on to receive major accolades, including a rave review from food critic Jay Rayner. Opening on June 10, Leo and Roobs will serve up delights including summer salads, wraps and toasties using local and high-quality ingredients, with a focus on fresh and healthy comfort options.
