A pensioner claims he has been left waiting for a letter containing cancer test results because Royal Mail refuse to deliver post to his street.

Homes in Ash Vale, in the Wavertree area of Liverpool, have not had any mail for the past six months after a postal worker was allegedly bitten by a dog.

A man will appear at court later this month after being charged with owning or being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control but Royal Mail confirmed they still deem the street to be 'unsafe' and confirmed the 'suspension' will remain in place for the time being.

More than 25 homes on the street have been affected, including a 70-year-old who is waiting for his test results and others who are waiting for an appointment at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool Echo reports.
