The 17-year-old accused of murdering three girls at a Taylor-Swift dance class in Southport has been described as a "quiet" choir boy who never left the house and loved singing.
Axel Rudakubana, who will turn 18 in just a few days, appeared in court on Thursday. He has been charged with the murders of Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine with a curved-blade kitchen knife.
He is also charged with the attempted murder of eight other children at a summer holiday event on Monday. Brave dance teacher, Leanne Lucas, 35, and heroic bystander Johnathan Hayes, 63, who were also attacked are still recovering in hospital.Rudakubana smiled at reporters before burying his face in his jumper and refusing to speak at his first court appearance today.
The judge blocked an anonymity order protecting his identity to prevent more "despicable" and "idiotic" rioting across England despote being under 18.At Liverpool Crown Court, Rudakubana kept his sweatshirt pulled up to his hairline and refused to speak to confirm his name and address and rocked side to side in the dock. The court heard how the teen had been "diagnosed with autism" and had been "unwilling to leave the house and communicate with his family for a period of time".
