South Lanarkshire councillors rejected a number of proposed cuts to key services when they approved the budget for the upcoming financial year.Council officers presented elected members with a balanced budget to plug the £20.570 million gap, and the proposals included a range of savings which were ultimately turned down.The Labour and Liberal-Democrat groups presented an alternative proposal to council officials which invested £2.665 into public services and removed many of the initial cuts.
