A woman is facing thousands in vet bills after her dog was left with a fractured skull following a collision with a motorbike.

Cristina Fernandez was walking her dog Lola on Saturday, May 6, in the Craigmillar Castle Park area of Edinburgh with her eight-year-old daughter when a biker driving through the park hit the dog.The driver failed to check on the injured seven-year-old pooch and sped away from the scene.

Lola was left lying upside down with blood coming from her nose.Cristina scooped up the much-loved dog and rushed her to the vet.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, she said: “Me and my daughter went up to the woods with the dog for a walk at around 4pm on Saturday, and in the park we saw this girl.“A lot of people in the community see her driving her motorbike through there, and she shouldn’t be.
