A Scots dad has blasted reckless e-scooter riders who left his young son in hospital after a 'high-speed hit and run' in Dundee.Kevin Traynor told the Record that his 11-year-old son Roddy was lucky to escape with cuts and bruises after being ploughed into on Dryburgh Street on September 1.The schoolboy had been walking on the pavement to a grassy area near his home to play football when he was knocked to the ground.

He was rushed to Ninewells Hospital for treatment and released a short time later after getting stitches to his cuts. The 44-year-old parent said: “I just want to raise awareness how dangerous these e-scooters are and people using them should take a bit more care.

They obviously shouldn’t be ridden on public pavements as it’s illegal. “The next person who gets hit might not be so lucky - especially if it’s a toddler running out to the car or an older person out walking.

Roddy was just going to play football at the green across the road from us.“But he came running back in crying about five minutes later.
