Scotland will be battered by monsoon conditions in the coming days as torrential downpours and floods are forecast to hit the country this week.
A wet weather warning has been issued by the Met Office with large parts of Scotland set to face heavy rain for three days. Up to six inches of rain is expected to fall across large swathes of the country from Wednesday until Friday.
Persistent rain is forecast for the remainder of the working week, with flooding likely in some spots.Heavy showers will develop on Wednesday, October 4, especially across west-facing hills, according to the Met Office, with over two inches of rain across western areas between the hours of 3am and midnight.
The warning will impact places across the central belt including Glasgow and Stirling.A more widespread warning then falls into place on Thursday and is set to remain throughout Friday as "locally heavy and persistent rain" arrives across the west of Scotland, from Dumfries and Galloway in the south to the north west Highlands.
