A pop-up sandwich spot is looking to raise £28,000 in crowdfunding to open a new restaurant in Prestwich. The new place would be called The Pearl, and it’s aiming to be a ‘neighbourhood bistro’ in the North Manchester suburb’s thriving food scene.

Owner Sam Terris Taylor has taken on a unit in an old computer shop on Bury New Road, and hopes to turn it from a shell into a 24-cover restaurant ‘serving classic European dishes, with every menu championing the best produce from across the British isles’.

Sam shifted from office work into hospitality during lockdown, launching Sansan MCR in December 2020, delivering his handmade sandwiches on his bike.

After pop-up sessions at places like Grub, Taylor now wants to turn his hand to being a restaurant owner.
