Rumer Willis has opened up about her first few moments of motherhood, revealing that she broke her own water while giving birth to her first child back in April.
Speaking on the Informed Pregnancy podcast, the actor recalled how she – quite literally – took matters into her own hands when her doula noticed how rapidly she had dilated. "She was checking me and felt my water bag bulging, but still not popping, which was wild," Rumer said on the podcast, explaining that she had dilated from two to eight centimetres within an hour – which is pretty fast.
According to the NHS, during a first pregnancy, it typically takes anywhere between eight and 18 hours for the cervix to fully dilate to 10 centimetres allowing the baby to pass through.
Detailing what happened next, Rumer went on: "So I was like, 'Well, should we break it?'" To that, Rumer's doula said that she could do it herself. "I'm like, 'What?
