Rob Lowe Says ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ Sequel Is In “Very, Very Early Stages”

The actor shared in a recent interview that a follow-up to the 1985 film co-written and directed by Joel Schumacher is happening, but don’t get your hopes up just yet. “We’ve met with the studio and I have been talking about doing it for about four months,” Lowe said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “But it’s very, very, very, very, very early stages.
So we will see.” Lowe noted that the Brats documentary “only added to the excitement around” a sequel to the coming-of-age film, which also starred Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Andie MacDowell, and Mare Winningham.
