Rutherglen Glencairn boss Joe Pryce hopes steering his side to the Scottish Cup first round will help repay some of the hard work done behind the scenes at the West of Scotland First Division club.Glencairn were granted their SFA Licence two years ago, enabling them to compete in the senior Scottish Cup, but have been unable to negotiate their way past the preliminary rounds.East of Scotland Premier League side Hutchison Vale stand between them and a shot at glory this Saturday, and Pryce is determined to make it happen.“It’s a huge game for us,” said Pryce. “It’s the one we’ve been looking forward to since the start of the season, a big game, and hopefully we can get the club into the first round proper.“That would be a bit of pay-back for all the people at the club who worked so hard to get us our licence, and we haven’t managed it in the last couple of years.“Here’s hoping on Saturday we can repay that and get the club into the first round proper of the Scottish Cup – it’d be massive to see Rutherglen’s name in the hat.“Hutchie Vale are a good side, we know it’s going to be a really tough game and we will have to be at our very best if we’re to have any chance of getting through.“But if we win this it shows the players that anything is possible.”Pryce knows he will have to disappoint players who want to play in the second preliminary round clash at the Hamish B.

Allan Stadium, but says the whole squad is united. He said: “We’re not silly, in terms of the senior Scottish Cup we know where we are.“Success for us is getting to the first round proper, and anything else after that would be a bonus.“But we would be absolutely delighted to get there, and that will be the focus in training this week.
