Rishi Sunak general election announcement leaves people distracted by 'hilarious' addition

Rishi Sunak announced the UK will be going to the polls on Thursday, July 4. The Prime Minister made the announcement outside 10 Downing Street on Wednesday evening after a day of speculation.

However, people watching the announcement at home were soon distracted by music which began blaring in the background. The song was Things Will Get Better by D:Ream which was used by Tony Blair in his general election campaign ahead of the 1997 election.

While making the announcement Mr Sunak was also getting soaked by the heavy rain which began to pour.
