Reform UK has beaten the Tories into third in a number of early seats following the shock exit poll, that predicted the worst result for the Conservative party in their almost 200-year history.
Nigel Farage's Reform Party could wreak havoc on both leading parties, as his right-wing party has sought to win over voters with his anti-immigration policy and promise of becoming 'a real opposition to a Labour Government'.
The exit polls, released after the polls closed across the UK at 10pm, suggested Farage's party could defy expectations and win 13 seats. With the first results in, Reform held strong second places, ahead of the Conservatives, in early seats Sunderland South, Sunderland Central, Washington and Gateshead South and Blyth and Ashington.
Mr Farage himself is also predicted to win in Clacton - in his eighth tilt at a seat in the Commons. The Labour party is forecast to win a landslide 170-seat majority, with the Tories reduced to their lowest number of MPs on record, with Nigel Farage’s Reform UK establishing a foothold in Parliament.
