A major emergency response at a police station in Manchester was triggered by an officer's CS gas canister going off. The device was accidentally activated at Longsight Station, the Manchester Evening News understands.
The incident triggered a major incident, with 10 people requiring medial checks. Emergency services were dispatched to the station on Grindlow Street, just off Stockport Road, earlier today (Thursday, February 29).

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said emergency crews responded to reports of a 'suspicious item'. The item was assessed, with 'no risk' identified.
