Manchester Evening News readers have had their say on the best place to live in Greater Manchester, with Stockport just about taking top spot in our poll last week.

The close run vote saw a wide spread of votes as people pitched in with their favoured areas, with Stockport taking 11 percent of the overall vote to sneak ahead of Altrincham and Worsley.

Following the result of our poll, we want to know whether you agree with the verdict and if not, where do you think the best place to live in Greater Manchester is? Let us know what you think in the comments section. Victory for Stockport came after narrowly edging out Altrincham, which took home about nine percent of votes as readers found that the allure of the Stockport Pyramid proved just enough to edge out the Times's 2021 best place to live in the north west.

Over on the western edge of Manchester, Worsley finished a narrow third gaining 8.7 percent of the vote with one reader arguing strongly for it in our comments section, citing the 'easy access' to main roads and transport links to the city centre as well as the 'many pubs, restaurants and cafes' Other popular areas in the region were Urmston, with the Trafford town taking seven percent of the vote, while the popular areas of Didsbury and Manchester city centre tied on just shy of six percent. Are you happy with the result of the vote?
