Scottish DJ Arielle Free has been replaced on BBC Radio 1 following her on-air clash with her co-star Charlie Hedges over the weekend when she was pulled from the airwaves during a live broadcast in Ibiza which left listeners feeling "embarrassed" for her.Arielle, who covers Friday and Saturday afternoons on air, made some unwelcome comments to her colleague during the live set from Ibiza Rocks hotel as she was heard 'slurring' and 'stumbling' over her words. Before being booted off the broadcast less than 45 seconds in, the 36-year-old Scot told her co-star she "hated" one of the tracks she was playing, and told her she "expected better" from her set.

Charlie, 37, cut off her microphone, told her to "have some respect" and "get out" of her DJ area.It has now been confirmed by reports in the Mirror that Arielle will be replaced this week only by Sian Eleri, missing out on her usual Monday to Wednesday two-hour slot and will return to the hot seat next week.According to Radio 1's official website, Arielle is due to host her Radio 1 Relax show, during her usual slot on August 7.

The two DJs are friends who performed together at the Women’s FA Cup Final in May, although their tense exchange could signify a change in that relationship.

Listeners soon took to social media following the broadcast, as they said how they had 'secondhand embarrassment' for Arielle following the awkward clash live on air.One person simply wrote: "Embarrassing," while another quipped at the chance of Arielle having 'severe booze fear' after listening back to the segment. "Can't imagine how bad and sever her booze fear is gonna be.
