An Edinburgh Fringe Festival performer who was left in tears after only one person turned up to her show has managed to sell-out her next performance.
Georgie Grier said earlier this week she was "so sad" after not having anyone to talk to after her performance. But within just 24 hours, she has performed to a full audience, reports Edinburgh Live.The Gilded Balloon, where she's performing her one-woman show, Sunsets, confirmed with The Guardian that her Friday afternoon show had sold out.
She reportedly emerged on stage and said to the crowd: "Hello Wembley!"She had the support of several big names, with Mock the Week host Dara Ó Briain telling her: “We’ve ALL done it.
Soon, you’ll dine out on this anecdote. More than once I had to buy my audience a drink, as a thank you for being the only ones there.Jason Manford also added: “It’s absolutely normal … for one person to rock up to your show, especially at the beginning of Edinburgh, and also for you to be a bit upset or annoyed or pissed off about it.
