Man seriously injured in Scots town after horror crash and mass brawl

A man is in hospital seriously injured after a horror crash and an assault in a Scots town. Police were called to the two-vehicle smash involving an Audi Q7 and a Ford Fiesta on Braehead Road in Paisley at 7.30pm on Friday, August 4.

Cops then responded to a disturbance involving a number of people which resulted in a man being seriously assaulted.Medics attended and a 29-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment to serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The Ford Fiesta involved in the crash was later found torched by police in the Renfrewshire town's Grampian Avenue a short time after the incident.Detectives say inquiries remain ongoing with officers carrying out door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage of the area.Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton of Paisley CID said: “We are carrying out enquiries door to door and examining the available CCTV as we work to establish the circumstances of this incident.

I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard the disturbance or who may have seen either vehicle involved to let us know.“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area, either of the disturbance or from Grampian Avenue where the Fiesta was found on fire."Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3666 of 4 August, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
