Police update as woman, 48, seriously injured after being hit by car

A driver who was arrested after a serious crash has been bailed by police. A woman was left seriously hurt after being hit by a car in south Manchester with the driver arrested on the scene.

The 48-year-old woman was struck by the car at the junction of Kingsway and Wilmslow Road in Didsbury at around 5pm on November 29.

She was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, police said. Officers taped off a stretch of Kingsway as investigations were carried out within the cordon.

The driver of the car - a 40-year-old man - remained on the scene of the crash.
