Heartbreak after boy who planned his own funeral aged 13 dies of rare disease

A family have been left heartbroken after an ill teenager who planned his own funeral at aged just 13 tragically dies.Rhys Williams, 18, was born with rare condition epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

It caused agonising sores all over his body. When he was a baby, doctors told Rhys' parents that he might not survive to double figures, but he battled hard to reach adulthood.Shortly after his 18th birthday in September, Rhys' health took a turn for the worse.

He developed sepsis and pneumonia and sadly doctors said there was nothing more they could do for him. He was moved to a hospice and then moved home on Thursday so he could spend time with his family, reports the Mirror.Sadly he passed away the following day.

His mum and full-time carer, Tanya Moores, 40, told Manchester Evening News: "He was the bravest, strongest and most courageous boy ever.
