A driver who was arrested after he reportedly hit a car before ploughing into a man in Rochdale has been bailed, police have confirmed.

CCTV footage captured the shocking ordeal on Milkstone Road on Tuesday afternoon (February 20). The video, which was widely circulated on social media, appeared to show a dark-coloured Honda Civic hit the back of a white Toyota Prius that had stopped in the road.

After a man leaves the Toyota to confront the other motorist, the Honda driver is then seen reversing the car, before driving into the man.

The footage showed the man flying over the bonnet before falling into the middle of the road. Join our WhatsApp Top Stories and Breaking News group by clicking this link. Yesterday, police said a 37-year-old man - believed to be the offending driver - was arrested on suspicion of assault.
