Police are on the scent of an apparent £250,000 perfume heist. The haul of high-end fragrances was reportedly stolen from an empty sweet factory in Cheshire.

Police have confirmed that a break-in at the premises was reported to them but there is no trace so far of the missing goods.

The incident happened at a former Swizzles Matlow premises on the Adlington Business Park in Macclesfield. The goods were the property of Royal Fragrances London, a "UK niche luxury perfumes brand" that manufacturers perfumes in England and exports to the Middle East.

They cost £250 to £350 a bottle. In a statement the company said: "In the evening of February 25th 2023, a severe crime occurred at a warehouse in Adlington (Sk10 4LZ).
