Plush Scots restaurant burnt out in "firebombing" as police probe blaze

Da Luciano's in the upmarket village of Bothwell, Lanarkshire, was sealed off by investigators as a probe got underway.Neighbours said the fire is believed to have started after midnight and fire engines were quickly on the scene to tackle the blaze.
Police and forensic officers could be seen working outside the fire-gutted Italian restaurant while a sniffer dog was also used.A fire investigation team was also working at the scene while shocked neighbours looked on.
Broken glass could be seen around the patio area outside while inside walls and windows were left black from smoke damage. Cops are treating the incident as "wilful".One said: "It was about half 12 in the morning when I heard this bang and looked out and the restaurant was on fire.
