Hundreds of thousands of Tax Credit claimants will receive the £300 Cost of Living Payment from today (November 10). It comes after millions of benefit claimants already received the tax-free payment from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

However, those who receive benefit payments from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) only have had to wait slightly longer to get their extra cash.

Today's payment marks the second out of three rounds of planned Cost of Living Payments for this tax year which will be worth a total of £900.

According to the government, the final payment will be made "by spring 2024 for most people" with no solid date yet being announced.
