Our country needs America to show the world that our flag is still there, with liberty and justice for ALL. That is why I am running for reelection — and respectfully ask for your vote,” she said in a post on her campaign’s Twitter/X page.
Pelosi, 83, who holds the title of speaker emeritus, stepped down from Democratic leadership earlier this year, as Republicans regained a slim majority in the House.
But she has remained in her congressional seat despite speculation that she would retire. She was first elected in 1987, and had been Democratic leader since 2003.
