BBC Bargain Hunt star in court over charges of assault and coercive behaviour towards wife
ok.co.ukCharles Hanson, a well-known face from Bargain Hunt, has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and coercive behaviour against his wife Rebecca Ludlam.The 45 year old auctioneer appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
During the brief hearing, Charles, who lives in Mackworth, Derby, was accused of causing actual bodily harm between May 13 and 17 2020 and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour from May 2015 to June 2023.
The TV star, also known for his appearances on Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip, only spoke to confirm his date of birth and enter his pleas of not guilty.
The judge stated that the charges were too serious for a magistrates' court trial and moved the case to Derby Crown Court. Dressed in a blue suit and red tie, Hanson was granted bail and is due to appear at the crown court on February 7.
