Giggs has announced a huge one-off headlining gig as part off Margate’s Summer Series, with Ghetts as a special guest.The ‘Zero Tolerance’ rapper will take over Dreamland in Margate on Saturday August 3 as part of this year’s series of shows.The gig will be a one-off chance to see these two legendary UK artists in the unique, summer setting of Dreamland Margate. Presenter and grime and rap tastemaker DJ Target will be hosting the gig.Speaking about the newly announced show date, Rob Waller, Founder and Programmer of the Margate Summer Series said: “We’re ecstatic to have Giggs and Ghetts joining us in Margate for this very special show.

Kraftwerk have announced plans to perform some of their albums in full at an upcoming Los Angeles residency.The electronic music icons are set to kick off the new shows later this year, held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.Set to kick off on May 21, it will span across nine shows and see them open by playing their album ‘Autobahn’ in full. First released back in 1974, the performance will also coincide with the 50th anniversary of the LP.The following seven shows will see them play other albums, ‘Radio-Activity’, ‘Trans Europe Express’, ‘The Man-Machine’, ‘Computer World’, ‘Techno Pop’, ‘The Mix’, and ‘Tour de France’ in full.In addition to the full album tracklists, each night will feature a second set of additional songs from throughout their catalogue.

Limp Bizkit, Richard Ashcroft and more have been announced as performers for the 2024 Margate Dreamland series.Other acts set to play at Margate Dreamland in the summer of 2024 include Madness, Simple Minds, Manic Street Preachers, Suede, IDLES, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Becky Hill, Busted, Craig David, DJ Spoony plus guests, Rudimental, Paloma Faith, Jack Savoretti, JLS and Jess Glynne.Limp Bizkit will play at the iconic Dreamland venue – which is located five minutes away from Margate station – on Saturday, June 15, 2024 and Richard Ashcroft is set to play on Friday, July 12, 2024.A ticket pre-sale for the shows will be available for those who sign up for the Margate Summer Series mailing list before Thursday, December 7 at 9am local time. General ticket sale is set to commence on Friday, December 8 at 9am local time.

The rocky landscape has made the competition fierce for a slot at not only top-tier festivals, but also regional film events like New York’s Rooftop Films’ Summer Series. Over the course of the last year, Rooftop Films president Dan Nuxoll received 3,500 film submissions for the nonprofit organization’s 27th annual Summer Series, which kicks off on May 25. Only 23 feature films and seven shorts were accepted. (Not all films have been announced.)

Angelique Jackson When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, Hollywood (and the world) slowed to a stop, leaving the team behind Endeavor’s pipeline initiatives at a loss.In an industry already rife with barriers to entry for people from underrepresented groups, how could these prospective talents get their foot in the door at agencies, studios and entertainment companies when the door literally no longer exists because everyone’s working from home.Those were the types of questions Romola Ratnam, Endeavor’s Head of Social Impact, and Hilary Kidwell, director of social impact at the company (both pictured above), began to ask themselves.“You have all these young people that may or may not think that they have a shot to be in this industry, and would’ve maybe gotten their first opportunity, whether it be an internship or entry level, and they may not have that anymore,” Ratnam recalled in an interview with Variety. “We already know the struggle to increase diversity within our industry is already tough, and when we take away all of these jobs, what does that do?” So, the team got creative — pivoting their postponed Fellowship Program, which aimed to provide jobs, mentoring and education programs within the company to 42 fellows each year, into a virtual model, renamed Summer Series, providing registrants the opportunity to learn more about working in the sports, entertainment and fashion industries.“We thought, ‘Let’s give them some free education that anybody can access from any device no matter where they are, and some hope that ‘Hey, I can make it,'” Ratnam explained.

Biffy Clyro have announced they’ll be performing a concert at Dreamland Margate set to take place later this month.The Scottish trio will play the 15,000-capacity outdoor event space and theme park on August 25, as part of the venue’s Summer Series. In addition to the concert, gig-goers will also be able to jump on selected rides.The Margate show will precede Biffy’s co-headline slot at Reading & Leeds 2021, which was announced at the end of last month after Queens Of The Stone Age were forced to pull out due to “due to restrictions and logistics”.They will then play Cardiff Bay’s Alexandra Head on September 16, where they’ll be joined by Frank Carter And The Rattlesnakes, followed by a gig at Glasgow Green that same month.
