Moment Leicester Square double stabbing suspect is arrested by police

Dramatic footage has emerged showing the moment a "knifeman" was arrested by cops after a double stabbing at a London tourist hot spot.A young girl, aged 11, and a 34-year-old woman were rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Leicester Square in a horror attack outside a tea shop this morning.

The suspect was apprehended by a security guard before police arrived. It is understood he was in the area before he allegedly carried out the violent attack.The London Metropolitan Police have since confirmed they arrested a 32-year-old man after racing to the scene.

Videos captured by shocked eyewitnesses appear to show a man in dark clothing being handcuffed by police officers on the busy street, The Mirror reports.One witness, dad-of-two Abu Tauhid, said he saw the alleged perpetrator "walking around the square" this morning before the attack took place.

He said: “I saw him walking around the square from about 11 this morning. He was on his own, just pacing around. I spotted him eating something like a wrap.“I saw police arrest him and then they took him away." The dad added that he also saw the moment a security guard, who has since been named as Abdullah, "wrestled [the alleged suspect] to the ground.” The footage shows the moment police placed the suspect in handcuffs.A local shop manager said that he saw the alleged perpetrator 90 minutes before the stabbing walking around Leicester's Square, talking to himself. "I saw the man standing there walking around and talking to himself," he said. "He looked homeless to me.
