Dramatic footage captured the moment a 'hero' police officer saved a woman from the sea in Blackpool. PC Nelson was on patrol during the annual 'Ride the Lights' event when he noticed a woman had fallen into the sea.

She had got into trouble after slipping off the sea defence walls as the tide was starting to come in. Knowing the danger she was in, PC Nelson and his colleagues Sgt Higgs, PC Dixon and PC Walker, rushed to her aid.

Listen, listen. I'm gonna help you. You're all right. Take a deep breathe." He then throws the life ring down to her and says: "Right, listen to me very carefully.
