Durie’s ABC have had boxers taking part in various home shows over the last couple of weeks.The Blairbeth club had a win and a withdrawal at the Broxburn Boxing Club show at Inveralmond High School on Saturday, February 10.Castlemilk’s Lucas Ewan, 14, was up against Edinburgh boxer Steven Steadwood from the Bronx, beating him on a 3-2 split decision in their 56kg fight.Head coach Archie Durie said: “These were two top boys, with Lucas being our most experienced boxer on 23 bouts, and Steadwood was aggressive and experienced, also.“Steadwood was the busier boxer, but Lucas was landing the cleaner, telling shots, and took the verdict.”Earlier that day, fellow Castlemilk teenager Kaylah Lynch, 13, was up against Broxburn BC’s Lexi Buchanan in a 57kg bout.Though she had been doing well, Kaylah was distressed between the second and third rounds, saying she couldn’t see properly, and coach Archie Durie told the referee he was retiring his boxer.Durie said: “Kaylah started this bout boxing lovely, taking thee first round with nice, solid shots, and the second round was closer.“Buchanan pinned Kaylah on the ropes for the last 20 seconds, catching her with a few head shots.“When Kaylah sat on the stool she was becoming distressed that she couldn’t see right.“I cleaned her eyes and the bell was about to go, but I saw she was still quite distressed.“It was unfortunately a win for the Broxburn boxer, as Kaylah was looking good for the win and she was perfectly okay after the bout, but I had to make a decision for my boxer.”The following weekend Durie’s had Rutherglen’s Nathan Rodden fighting Glasgow BC’s Tayyib Arbab at Sam Kynoch’s professional/amateur event at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow.The fight went to judges, who
