Dozens of flood warnings and alerts have been issued across the UK as more heavy rain is forecast - with Greater Manchester braced for downpours.

Heavy showers lashed the UK on Sunday, the heaviest of which were in the Midlands - where more than 21mm of rain fell in Warwickshire in just a few hours, the Mirror reports.

More downpours are forecast this week, with 133 flood alerts and 34 flood warnings issued by the Environment Agency. Most of the alerts are for the south of England, but the Met Office predicts much of the UK will see more rain. "Heavy rain will (tonight) move into western areas later in the night with brisk winds", a forecast on the Met Office website said.
