Ladies who had private surgery to take out transvaginal mesh are being told to ask for their money back from the Scottish Government before time runs out. This mesh was used to help with wee leaks and when bits of the body slip out of place, but it sometimes caused really bad pain and other big problems. The Scottish Government has been giving back the cash to women who paid themselves to get the mesh taken out by June 2, 2022.But this chance to get money back will end on March 31 this year.Jenni Minto, the woman in charge of women's health, said: "Many women who have been impacted by complications after having had transvaginal mesh implanted have experienced immense pain and suffering."She also said: "It is important that women who are eligible to apply to the transvaginal mesh removal reimbursement scheme are not left out of pocket, which is why the Scottish Government extended the scheme."And she added: "I would urge any woman who thinks she may be eligible for reimbursement to apply before March 31."There's another plan that lets ladies get the surgery to remove the mesh through the NHS in the UK or the US, and this will keep going.
