Midsomer Murders' veteran Neil Dudgeon has opened up about a stunt mishap he experienced while filming the hit ITV series. On Monday's lively edition of the popular daytime programme, hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were accompanied by both Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix as they discussed the much-anticipated return of the acclaimed ITV drama airing the following evening.Initiating the conversation about their experiences on the new series, Alison directed her inquiries towards Nick: "What do you think of Neil's performance?"Humorously, Nick quipped, "Well if he would give one.

Neil is an inspiration, a mentor figure, a father figure and I've learned so much from him."Changing the topic swiftly, Alison interjected with, "I've heard he is doing his own stunts too." To which Nick confirmed, "Yes he is doing his own stunts.

He's got a bit of a dodgy knee. As long as the knee is alright and the elbow," reports the Express.Neil then elaborated on the situation stating: "I did this episode but I can't tell you who we were chasing after but we did a bit of a chase."He continued his tale, "They said that we've just got to run around the table so I did that three or four times, and it all went fine and then that night I got home and thought oh my knee and it's still bad two years later."Reacting to Neil's confession, Alison jested: "You're joking." With classroom-style humour, Neil met the camera's gaze and jibed: "I've not put a claim in."Finally, Nick went on, "It's very dangerous being a TV detective," to which Dermot asked him, "Are you doing some stunts." Nick admitted: "I try to do some stunts but I always feel bad." Midsomer Murders is poised to make a comeback on our screens on Tuesday, July 16.
