Parts of Greater Manchester could be hit with snow this week as temperatures turn subzero once again. A Met Office map showing rain and snowfall across the country depicts Rochdale, Oldham, Tameside and Bury being hit with a wall of snow on Friday afternoon (December 1).

More than 4mm of snow an hour is forecast to fall in some areas, while less than 0.5mm will fall in others. According to the forecaster, the snow is likely to be short-lived but could cause disruption for a few hours before melting.

It comes as temperatures drop to -2C across our region from Wednesday. These may bring some snow and ice impacts in the coming days. Towards the end of the week there is a possibility of snow across parts of the south, but this is far from certain.
