Met Office snow map timelapse shows Greater Manchester forecast on Thursday and Friday as cold snap continues

The weather will turn wintry in Greater Manchester tomorrow (Thursday, March 9), with snow forecast to fall across some boroughs.

The weather has been getting chillier as the week has gone on, with temperatures dipping below freezing on Thursday. A yellow weather warning for snow is in place, covering our region from 7am tomorrow until 2pm on Friday (March 10).

The Met Office has warned that delays on roads may occur, as well as disruption and cancellations to rail and air travel. The UKHSA has also warned that those vulnerable to cold weather should stay inside and ensure their house is kept warm. READ MORE: Met Office weather forecast hour by hour for every Greater Manchester borough as heavy snow is set to hit Snow is forecast to fall from 9am in Bolton, Oldham and Wigan on Thursday, while it will fall an hour later in Bury, Rochdale and Tameside, according to the Met Office's weather forecast timelapse, which you can watch above.

More than 4mm an hour of snow will fall in Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale during the heaviest showers. Manchester will avoid the snow, but is forecast sleet and rain throughout the day.
