Fire crews raced to blaze on a West Lothian street that left a building destroyed.Emergency services were called to Main Street in Blackridge after the alarm was raised at around 5pm on Tuesday.Firefighters surrounding a number of derelict garages on the street.The road was cordoned off while they tackled the blaze.
It’s understood smoke could be seen from miles away, as it reached above trees. Fire crews quickly worked to control the blaze and no casualties have been reported.A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are currently in attendance on Main Street in Blackridge.
We received the call at 4.59pm on Tuesday, August 6, and mobilised three fire appliances and one height appliance. No casualties have been reported.”Earlier today a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Main Street in Blackridge is closed following a fire at a premises that was reported to police around 5.25pm on Tuesday, August 6.“Emergency services are in attendance and the public is asked to avoid the area while the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service works to extinguish it.
