Coronation Street star Sean Wilson has shared a new five-word message with fans after his shock comeback U-turn. The actor, who made his debut on the show in 1985 as Martin Platt, was scheduled to reprise his role later this year as part of Gail Platt's final storyline.

Back in July, Sean returned to filming, six years after he last appeared on the ITV soap and was set to appear on screen in October as part of Gail's exit, which is set for the end of 2024, after Helen Worth made the decision to step down from the role after 50 years.

It was said at the time that Martin's son David would be shocked to find his dad at the house and was immediately suspicious about his reason for coming back into their lives out of the blue.
