Tom Huddlestone will continue his player-coach role in Manchester United's academy. The experienced midfielder joined United last summer after leaving Championship side Hull City.

Huddlestone replaced Paul McShane in the role of player-coach, after the former Republic of Ireland international called time on his playing career.

Huddlestone remaining in the United academy means he has the chance to give the next generation experience of playing alongside a veteran.

Huddlestone will feature for United's under-21s as an overage outfield player in the Premier League 2. He will also be able to feature in the club's Papa John's Trophy campaign, with United taking on Salford City, Stockport County and Bolton Wanderers.
