A man who died in Angus after his van was hit by a tree during Storm Babet has been named locally as John Gillan.Emergency crews raced to the incident on the B9127 near Forfar at 5.05pm on Thursday.
Paramedics attended however the 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say his next-of-kin has been informed. The area has been hit with heavy rain and wind amid Storm Babet, with a red weather alert in place.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.05pm on Thursday, 19 October, 2023, police received a report of a one-vehicle crash in which a tree struck a van on the B9127 at Whigstreet near Forfar.
