Love Island's Samie Elishi reveals her thyroid surgery has been postponed after hospital dash

Follow OK! on Threads here: https://www.threads.net/@ok_mag Samie Elishi has provided an update on her upcoming surgery, after discovering a 5cm lump on her thyroid.Taking to her YouTube channel, the former Love Island star, 23, revealed that she was recently rushed to hospital after developing a "really bad case" of tonsillitis during a cruise holiday.

Samie explained that due to her tonsillitis and hospital dash, her scheduled thyroid surgery has now been postponed to a later date.

She said: "I didn't realise how bad tonsillitis could be, I was on an IV drip on the cruise to try and get food and water in me because I couldn't eat or drink.That was really bad. "Then as soon as I landed I was meant to go to the Beyoncé concert with PrettyLittleThing, which I'm absolutely gutted I couldn't make, but I had to land and go straight to the hospital." She continued: "Me and my mum went straight to the hospital and got checked out because the antibiotics I got given on the cruise were wearing off, they gave me enough to last my flight, so I had to be admitted into hospital here, in the UK. "So I was there almost over night and basically I didn't know this but you can't have surgery if you have an infection." She added: "My surgery was meant to be a couple of days later after the cruise so it got postponed.

Now it will be at the end of this month so it is quite soon now." Samie then thanked her fans for their support, saying: "I've had such amazing messages as well saying how helpful it has been me sharing my journey.
