Laura Anderson: 'Gary and I are co-parenting the best we can - we're friends'
ok.co.ukFormer Love Island star Laura Anderson would be the first to admit that the early weeks of motherhood have looked very different to how she'd once imagined them.The 34 year old, who welcomed her baby daughter Bonnie with Gary Lucy in September, split from the ex Hollyoaks actor in early 2023, shortly after publicly announcing the pregnancy.
While there were a few attempts to get back together and Gary, 41, was by her side throughout the labour, they are no longer a couple. “I wanted nothing more than for us to be a family and to be together, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out,” said Laura, who previously spoke out about her fears of being a single mum. “Nobody has the perfect set-up, even people who are in relationships.
Life is difficult and I know now it’s OK not to have the fairy-tale. “No one knows what the future holds, but it’s really important that Bonnie has a mother and a father who love her and who are getting along.
She needs both of us in her life, so that is always going to be my priority.” Laura has admitted that she and Gary are on good terms and are co-parenting to the best of their ability.
