A Labour constituency branch in Bolton has been suspended by the national party who said there were ‘concerns about its operation’.

Bolton North East Constituency Labour Party (CLP) were informed that all their officers would be ‘relieved of their positions and duties’ as the party conducted an investigation.

The party said it had ‘received a significant number of complaints regarding the conduct of Labour Party members’ which led to the suspension.

The decision was made by Labour’s national executive committee who said ‘all CLP meetings will cease until further notice’.
